Incursio Barbarica 24: Roman General
His face is a bit out of focus, but here he is in all his glory: Titus Sempronius, Commander of my (not painted yet) Late Roman force. Together with Verax, his gallic bodyguard and banner bearer, he will not let the hairy germans cross the Rhine...well that´s the plan so far.
I used, as always, the Musketeer Miniatures Characterpack "Vortigern", labelled under their Saxon range. I replaced the banner with a larger one, freehand Jesus on metal foil.

Stunning work !!!
ReplyDeleteLove the banner !!
Best regards Michael
Very nice! Brilliant work on the banner. By the looks of the trophy they're brandishing its seems that one 'Hairy German' has had a little taken off the top!
ReplyDeleteAbsolutely awesome!Very inspirational for my late romans.
ReplyDeleteThank you all! I fear the Late Romans won't Flow as steady as the germans, cause I have a little son since three weeks. His Name is coincidently...Titus. And he will be my favourite Hobby from Now on I guess.

That is a lovely bit of painting, Jan!

Now THAT is how to paint a Late Roman general! Well done!!
ReplyDeleteCongratulations on the birth of your son! When mine was born, I found that I got loads of painting done in the early morning hours when he was wide awake...If I tried to sleep, he wailed...If I sat painting with some music on quietly, he was very happy. I painted 24 Franks and a dozen late Romans over a 3 month period like that :-)
So let us hope he is like your son Andy ;-)
ReplyDeleteOh, I don't know...the lack of sleep nearly finished me off!!
ReplyDeleteAm really looking forward to seeing the rest of your Romans...whenever you get them done.
Absolutely top notch work Jan!
